Hamsters will eat pretty much anything. They especially love seeds and grains. Hamsters are Nocturnal meaning they sleep during the day and stay awake during the night. Interestingly Hampsters teeth never stop growing.

Harbor Seals like to eat anchovies, herring, sea bass, cod, flatfish, squid, shrimp, and mollusks. They don’t chew their food but instead tear their prey and swallow chunks whole. To communicate with other seals they use trilling or clicking noises.

Hares are larger than rabbits. They can run up to 35 miles per hour. Hares like to eat leaves, dry green grasses, and stems. 

Harp Seal

Harp seals can live up to 35 years. They live on the Atlantic side of the Arctic and eat Crustaceans and fish. Seals use the thick layer of blubber under their skin to keep them warm in the cold water.

Hawks can see farther than and clearer than us. They are able to fly up to 40 hours per hour and use their talons to catch their prey. 

Hedgehog

Hedgehogs are lactose intolerant and love to stay up all night. They build their nests from bushes, shrubs, and hedges. They don’t use their eyes to hunt but use their nose. Hedgehogs have over 5000 spikes!

Hermit Crabs are one of the most popular pets. They are crustaceans which means they use other animals’ shells for a home to protect their soft bodies. They eat worms, small fish and plankton.

Hippopotamus are the third largest mammals on the earth. Hippopotamuses can hold their breath for about 5 minutes and can walk along the floors of river and lake beds. Hippos eat about 80 pounds of grass every night. Hippos can tell who is a friend and who is an enemy. 

Honey Badger

Honey Badgers are small but strong animals. They live in bushy areas of Asia and Africa. They are great swimmers and dig burrows up to 9 feet long where they rest during the winter. They mostly eat meat and don’t have very many predators.
