Verb Charades takes words like run, jump, and skip and turns them into an entertaining game for your kids and students to play. Your kids can have a blast acting out words they know and understand well.
Verb charades has become a favorite at my kids birthday parties and special occasions. I have the best time watching them grab a card and act it out in front of their friends!
Why I Love Charades
Charades is a family favorite in my home! I love getting everyone together and having a friendly competition! There are always laughs and we have a good time! I love that there are so many genres for us to choose from! There are so many different charade ideas out there to choose from!

How to Play Verb Charades
Charades is an easy game to learn!
First, split up into groups. You can have as many or as few as you want. You can play as one big group if that works better for you.
Next, decide who is going to act first from both teams. I like doing something silly like take-a-knee or who has the coolest socks!
The actor on the team going first will have 1 minute to try and get their team to guess the correct word on the card.
If your team doesn’t guess correctly, the other team has one chance to guess correctly. If they get it right they get the point. It’s then the other teams turn to guess.
You will keep going until all the cards are gone or one team gets to a certain amount of points (that number can be determined before you start playing).
REMEMBER: The actor cannot use words or mouth anything to their team. They can only use actions to try and get their team to guess the word on the card.
Also remember not to guess for the other team! You don’t want to give them free points!
