How To Play Thanksgiving Charades

Here are some simple guidelines you can use while playing Thanksgiving Charades:

  • First, print off your Thanksgiving charade cards and then divide your group into two teams.
  • Next, have one player from each team roll the die. The team with the higher number goes first. Now you are ready to start! The first player on the team picks a charade card and acts it out without speaking.
  • The other players on their team have to try to guess what they are acting out. They can shout out their guesses. If the team guesses correctly, they get a point! The player who guessed correctly then acts out the next word or phrase on the list.
  • If the team can’t guess the word or phrase within 1 minute, the other team gets a chance to steal and guess. They get 1 minute to act it out. The first team to reach 10 points wins!

Tips and Tricks For Playing Charades

  • Before you begin acting out the clue, it is super helpful for the actor to hold up the amount of fingers to represent how many words are in the clue.
  • If the entire group chooses, each team gets one skip for the entire game.
  • Don’t be afraid to be silly and have fun as you are acting out the clue.
  • Remember, when your team is not guessing to sit quietly, it is so easy to blurt out the answer, and when you do, the other team can get a point if it is the right answer.
  • After the timer is up, the other team gets one guess, the first guess said, so be sure to talk it over with your team prior to blurting out the answer.
